One late night while reading one of my Stephen King Books, I got so scared that I went to the other room and woke my sister. She was not very happy that I woke her, but I started to tell her of the story I was reading and how terribly scared I was. After setting beside her bed for 10 minutes talking, I calmed down enough to go back to my room and go to bed. Needless to say, I finished that book during daylight hours.
When reading a Stephen King book, there are several characteristics I like to have met. Starting with, the more realistic the book, the better. Sometimes I get so scared I have to stop reading for a while and get back to reality before picking the book up again. It is amazing how easy it is to fall into Stephen King books. You know, when you pick up a book, start reading, and the next thing you know you are involved in the story. Maybe you are a character, or possibly a watching bystander. The excitement and emotion you get from these horror fiction stories are an absolute thrill.
Another characteristic I like a book to have is “ponder power”. This is where you put a book on hold to take care of regular life and you can’t stop thinking of the characters, plot and the direction it will go. You also notice a feeling of strong desire that pulls you back to your story life where dangers lie and you live in constant fear. There is something about really scary stories that keep you vibrantly alive. During the time it takes to read your book, even things in your real life seem weary and Stephen King books deliver ponder power.
Stephen King novels not only deliver these characteristics consistently, but they leave you wanting more. If you like to see what’s to come, here are new Stephen King recent and upcoming releases. After reading so many great novels and short stories, I am fascinated to learn of his biography.
There have been so many times I have lost myself in his science fiction books. It all depends on my mood or the moment whether I grab a book or sit down to watch Stephen King movies. Although it is nice to catch a movie in the evening, I love to make a day of watching his best suspense movies.

The Shining is one of my favorite Stephen King books where a psychological horror with Jack Torrance (Jack Nicholson), as a tormented writer who agrees to take a job as a caretaker at a hotel that always gets snowed in during the winter. The hotel chef and Jack’s son share psychic abilities that the chef calls “shining”. With the hotel snowbound, Jack Torrance is persuaded by the ghosts in the haunted hotel and you need to buy the book or movie for this thrilling story.
The Mist is a story that seems it could come true with our weather as crazy as it has been in the past years. A thunderstorm cuts off the power of a small town in Maine. An unnatural mist takes over the town forcing the town people to stay in a local supermarket. This monster movie shows what ordinary people are driven to do under extraordinary circumstances.
UR is a more recent novella that mixes modern technology with the ability to search multiple universes for data. Wesley Smith found this out when he purchased a Kindle and received a pink one even though Kindles are always white. Soon he discovers his own self in a parallel universe and realizes this edition was for another Wesley Smith.
IT is probably the Stephen King movie that has scared me the most. Pennywise the clown looks so scary and experiencing the fright of the characters as young children who thought the monster was gone, just to realize “IT” might have returned. They now relive the horror that took place 30 years ago with this evil who has supernatural powers.
More Stephen King Books will be added in the future.
